Order process
If you decide to buy swimming goggles from THEMAGIC5, you will be confronted with made-to-measure products as early as the ordering process. After choosing the right glasses, you use an app to read your face.
A how-to video shows how the scan is carried out. We recommend looking at this before the scanning process. Once the facial scan has been completed, your glasses go into production.
The entire process is accompanied by THEMAGIC5 via e-mail feedback. The production time is 3-5 working days. The delivery time depends on the location. We received our glasses within 10 working days, despite being in another EU country.
Fit
After receiving the glasses, one thing was of course tested first: how well do they really fit? The result? THEMAGIC5 promises customization and keeps its promise.
The lenses fit the face perfectly and are almost imperceptible on the skin.
The nose clip is pleasantly soft and can be replaced if necessary. There are 4 additional nose clips in the transport bag to guarantee an optimum fit. Adjusting the goggles using the elastic straps is easy and can be done with one hand. In our opinion, the straps are a little too long, but can be cut off if necessary.
The goggles don’t have to be super tight and are still 100% waterproof. Thanks to the pleasantly soft material, there are no pressure points, even after long swimming sessions.
Material
THEMAGIC5 produces its glasses in a 3D printer. A closer look at the models reveals this.
The material is soft and yet robust, but adhesive residue is visible on the edges. Despite futuristic tendencies, the design itself offers little in the way of sophistication.
Silicone and polycarbonate are materials that can withstand all water conditions. Whether salt or chlorine, the goggles promise a long service life. Only direct sunlight should be avoided so that the material remains supple for a long time.
Visual quality
Our tested models are both characterized by crystal-clear vision. Whether in the swimming pool or at sea, the lenses do not fog up and offer an impressive field of vision.
The diamond shape of the glasses takes some getting used to when you first use them, but it does offer some advantages. The shape of the lenses makes it easy to keep an eye on your surroundings, especially when swimming competitively.
Anti-fog and UV protection:
Another advantage is the UV protection offered by the glasses. The Smoke Magic glasses particularly impressed us in this respect. A game changer, especially for swimming in the sea in the southern hemisphere. A safety note from the manufacturer advises not to wipe the glasses before use. The anti-fog protection of the glasses should thus remain guaranteed.
Watertightness
Who doesn’t know it? The swimming goggles are pulled particularly tight so that no annoying drops of water cloud your vision during training. But no matter how tightly the goggles fit, the water finds a way.
This scenario has come to an end with the swimming goggles from THEMAGIC5. The straps of the glasses can be worn in such a way that they neither rub nor pinch. The goggles are reliably sealed.
The best thing about it? The manufacturer guarantees the waterproofness of the models with the promise of an optimum fit. If there are any complaints, the glasses will be replaced.
Price-performance ratio
The advantages of THEMAGIC5 swimming goggles are indisputable. Comfortable, perfect fit, waterproof, with UV protection and mostly fog-free.
Nevertheless, the glasses with at least. 75 $ each is an investment that not everyone can afford. If you order your preferred model in a package, you can save a little, but it remains to be seen whether this will be enough for buyers.
We give a very clear minus point, as the prices of the models differ greatly depending on the country of residence. While glasses cost 75 $ on average across Europe, Greek residents have to shell out a whopping 141 $ per model. When asked by the company, this impressive price difference was justified by higher shipping costs.
The Magic5 swimming goggles accessories
In addition to customized swimming goggles, THEMAGIC5 also offers other high-quality swimming accessories. Some products were developed with the support of professional swimmers such as Olympian Katja Wasick.
Customer opinions and experiences
The general tenor of the swimming goggles is clear enthusiasm for the fit, but that’s not all. The optics and crystal-clear vision of the glasses are praised, as is the customer support.
THEMAGIC5’s clientele ranges from amateur swimmers to professional athletes, which speaks for the high quality of the models. Only the price stops some people from buying.
